Plans change and disruptions occur on a daily basis, but the focus on the safety, security and comfort of the millions who pass through must remain the same. It is imperative to balance this with the need to please multiple stakeholders and comply with complex regulations.
The business imperative was to provide demand forecasts six months in advance and plan resources three months in advance to allot for time to fluctuate resources as demand fluctuates.
CHALLENGE

The analyst had to factor in the influence of airline schedules, interruptions, promotions, and service needs on customer demand. The forecast needed historical data for requests, flight arrivals, departures and connections, enplanements, times, disruptions, service time requirements, and regulatory changes.
